Sing Therapy Workshop - Cornwall
Kana Lowen
 Mousehole, near Penzance, Cornwall.

A heart-warming day of vocal wellbeing for all levels

“Kana Lowen” means happy singing in the Cornish language.

I’m very pleased to be bringing Sing Therapy™ to Mousehole for a one-day workshop this June.

Singing is good for you. Everyone deserves to experience the benefits, whatever stage they are at with their voice.

Join me for a friendly, informal day of singing, relaxation and vocal wellbeing in the heart of Mousehole, the Cornish fishing village close to where I grew up.

📆 Saturday June 6th 2026

🌿 A playful and practical day of voice and singing by the sea.

Expect laughter and connection in good company.

Who is it for?

This gentle Sing Therapy™ day is open to adults who may be:

• complete beginners and scaredy cats
• anxious or returning singers
• choir members
• experienced singers wanting a gentle vocal reset
• anyone curious about connecting with their voice

You do not need musical experience and nobody will be put on the spot.

This workshop may suit you if:

✨ You are curious about singing
✨ You were told you “couldn’t sing” at some point
✨ You feel nervous singing around other people
✨ You’d like to explore your voice in a friendly, non-judgemental setting
✨ You already sing, but would like more freedom, confidence and ease
✨ You are a confident singer but simply like the sound of the workshop

What is Sing Therapy™?

Sing Therapy™ is more than your voice.

It's about helping people feel more comfortable with their singing while learning practical vocal skills in a supportive group environment.

It combines:

• accessible vocal technique
• breath and relaxation
• gentle physical warm-ups
• songs and harmony
• playful exploration
• listening and resonance work

🌸 What will we do?

Through relaxation, calming breath work, easy vocal exercises and group singing, we’ll explore the voice in a way that feels supportive, freeing and enjoyable.

The day will include:

• warm-up exercises
• breathing for relaxation
• voice liberation (more fun than it sounds!)
• resonance and vibration
• simple songs and rounds
• refreshments and home-prepared lunch

Everything is taught in an accessible, light-hearted and encouraging way.

Nobody will be expected to sing alone.

Expect laughter, connection and a relaxing break in good company.

The workshop runs from 10am–4pm and includes refreshments and home-prepared lunch.

Pre-booking is essential. There will be no tickets on the day.

Whether you long to sing more freely, reconnect with your confidence, or simply spend a nourishing day by the sea, you’ll be very welcome

  • simple songs and rounds

  • group singing and voice exploration

Everything is approached in a light-hearted, accessible way. No competition, pressure or performance experience required.

🌿 Can I buy a ticket on the door?

No. Places must be booked in advance.

Numbers are limited and the workshop is planned around the participants attending, so please do not arrive without a confirmed booking.

🌿 Do you provide accommodation?

No. This is a one-day workshop and finishes at 4pm.

For those travelling from further afield, there are many accommodation options nearby, including hotels, guest houses, hostels, camping and self-catering accommodation.

Yes. The workshop takes place on the first floor and there is both lift access and a staircase.

🌿 How do I get there?

Mousehole is close to Penzance, the final stop on the Great Western Railway line from London Paddington. The journey takes approximately 5½ hours and is one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the country. There is also a sleeper service from London.

From Penzance station:

  • direct buses run to Mousehole

  • taxis are readily available

If driving, I recommend parking before entering the village itself if possible.

The paid car park by The Coastguard Hotel is usually the simplest option, with a short walk into the village and to the venue.

Full travel details will be sent after booking.

🌿 What time is the workshop?

The workshop runs from 10am to 4pm.

Doors open at 9.45am.
We do need to vacate the venue promptly at the end of the day.

Yes. Possibly.

A small number of private 1:1 lessons will be available locally on June 7th for workshop participants.

These will be offered on a first come, first served basis after booking and will incur an additional fee.
